"I want to feel, I hope that there is a conduit between me and the songwriter. And this was part of what this person was experiencing," he says. "The end result of it, what came out on the canvas is almost not even worth our attention as far as like, 'Oh my God' It's very psychologically similar to the difference between feeling and then the rationalization of the feeling."
