Dietary protein increases the thermic effect of food. When you eat a meal with protein, the body has a harder time sensing that protein so it doesn't easily turn on. Anabolic resistance really is defined as thi inefficiency of protein utilization by skeletal muscle. The way to overcome that is through exercise and then adding in dietary protein either post exercise or eating more protein at one meal.
