Pepperine helps to stop our livers from excreting curcumin quite so efficiently. So it keeps the curcumin in our blood for longer, potentially improving its beneficial effects. There is some really decent research actually in humans around the improvement in mood when patients are taking curcumin and other drugs. But that takes us back to where we were before, which says that there is good research for this, but it's for people with acute symptoms.
