The Importance of Stability in the World
Naseem Taleb says societies that put stability above all else, as you said, Russia and China, outward and inward stability. Those are those societies trying to keep a lid on them become inherently much more fragile. In the West, there's less stability, more risk, sure, more reward for some. But that disparity between rich and poor and a really fragile banking system is less attractive now. The most unequal countries in the world, South Africa and Russia, the disparity between rich-poor and Russia is off the scale.
