The Shorthand Isn't the Thing, Right?
The notion of a cluster of behaviors that come under the umbrella of instructional in nature and direct instruction describes that, is that right? It's a pedagogical model which includes, I mean it has a theoretical underpinning and it's strongly linked to cognitive psychology. So when you read those papers from the 70s and 80s and they talk about instruction being the largest behavior they're not talking about a single instruction what they've done is they've clustered that group of behaviors together.
