Medieval folk music is really a specific subset of folk music. There's plenty of folk Traditions that sound very similar or identical to this especially how they would be performed In the modern day. Looking at it through an accurate historical lens of what would they literally have been playing and what would that have sounded like Hundreds and hundreds of years ago. It probably didn't actually sound tremendously similar to this but again, it's like this is fantasy This isn't meant to be historically accurate This is meant to accurately conjure up all of the connotations that we need to bring To high fantasy and this Accomplices that perfectly suit us.
