The Power of Belief in Sport

There's a pretty powerful placebo or belief effect associated with sports science. If you educate the athlete and have them have a sense of belief that this is backed in science then you might have an even better chance of those recovery strategies actually working for them. I think we need to be really careful because there's a lot of gurus out there who are trying to sell something before they're tested. We see a lot of now with social media and marketing and fancy things that get sold before they're tests so what we want to do is have some belief through education experience with strategies that actually really do work.
