In the 1910s in Greenwich Village, you had the emergence of a group of modernist intellectuals. Randall Borne was seen as an avatar of the youth culture of the 1910s. He urged his fellow Anglo-Saxon Americans to be cosmopolitan and repudiate their narrow traditions. But at the same time he told other groups not to become cultural half-breeds. And that kind of culture of anti-majoritarianism is a template for the later anti-whiteness which comes in in the sort of late 60s or more recently.
