The Dopamine Signal Crawls Backwards Slowly Towards the Queue
The researchers came up with this motto, as Jason said, where the mouse is in its head has all these kind of association between queue and reward. And what they found is that when they looked at the dopamine signal, there was no this kind of crawling back of the dopamine from the reward to the queue. This completely cannot be explained by the reinforcement learning reward prediction error paradigm. So it's actually, I think it's very interesting way of showing that the way we've been thinking about dopamine maybe needs to be revised.
