The Global Story of Science Converges Over the Past Two Centuries
The cultures of places like India, China and Japan are extremely important in fertilizing the kinds of science that we think of as typically modern. There's a bit of pushback with people saying it's great to celebrate these wider stories, particularly the less known parts. But in the end, doesn't the global story of science converge over the past two centuries? You mentioned Chinese and Islamic science both highly original in many ways, but they get brought under the umbrella of what you could broadly call the Western scientific world.
