The NSA Is Monitoring the Internet
NSA has tapped into communications link, such as undersea cables connecting Yahoo and Google data centers around the world. In 2013, Edward Snowden revealed that the US and England had been combing through data pulled from around 200 undersea cables across the world. Because those links are overseas, they can do so without any oversight from the US government.
