The pope came from isaiah chapter 22, when there is this roll of the al habait. Peter himself was a failure as well, right? Peter denied knowing jesus. And yet, what does jesus do with peter? That even though simon, peter kefa, had failed in his role, jesus restored him to his role. So you might not like that interpretation, but hopefully it's illuminating. Hopefully you realize that god has given keeps, he keeps given us gifts, even we don't even realize it.
