The Language of Trauma

Trauma is the notion that trauma involves some sort of physical damage, injury or intrusion of a body. The original Greek word trauma similarly refers to a literal winding of the flesh. Victims of trauma often find it nigh on impossible to articulate what's occurred. Trauma can be triggered just as much by a slowly progressing disease as by a world shattering event.
