When cinema was invented, the clever film makers tried to do things that would be very different kind of experience for people. But we're past that now. It's really all about what is the resolution of the image you're exposed to. Apple went there a little bit with ta display where the pixle element is the same size or smaller than the capacity of your retina to resolve. And so maybe the day will arrive where i can hold an image of something that is so highly resolved you don't know whether you are looking at an image or reality. I don't think it matters whether you actually go to the grand canyon.
