How Do We Know That Pi Is Irrational?

Ricky: Pi is an irrational number because it doesn't settle into a repeating pattern after the decimal point. He says that we have to prove this using mathematical technique or proof by contradiction. Ricky asks if there's any utility in knowing 62.8 trillion digits at all. "I'm not aware of anybody who needs to know 62.1 trillion digits apart" he adds.
