NC-17: The Rise and Fall of Adult Film
The MPAA gave Flesh Gordon 2, also known as Flesh Gordon meets the Cosmic Cheerleaders, an NC-17. Howard Zeehm wrote a letter to the editor of the LA Times protesting the double standard. The first Flesh Gordon was released in 1974 and rated R; this sequel had no frontal nudity or erotic sex scenes. After Henry and June, no studio released an NC- 17 film for years.
