The Mystery of the Human
Sun: I'm really, really into brutalist architecture these days and loving the experience of stumbling upon a brutalist building. There's an alien quality to the architecture that turns the human into something we can no longer say we understand. It's almost like we're going to de-realize that aspect of art that we think we give over to the medium so much that what we get in the end will be unrecognizable yet still by virtue of our having made it. That's what I see as the essence of brutalism.
