Tycho and Kirsten Yorkan would live together for almost 30 years until Tycho's death in 1576. Together they would have eight children, six of whom survived to adulthood. While King Frederick respected Tycho's choice of wife, as he himself had been unable to marry the woman he loved, many of Tycho's family members disagreed. Many churchmen would continue to hold the lack of a divinely sanctioned marriage against him.
