The Myth of Language and the Myth of Myth

Art and religion originate from this myth making inclination or tendency in humankind which is an attempt to communicate. I think just as much as language it's that art springs from emotional communication instead of rational, according to Nietzsche. No other form of art really comes close to the purity of music in this respect but we could see myth as sort of like the common ancestor of both religious and artistic expression.
