The mausoleum of augustus has sat totally neglected behind a fence in rome for decades. But just last year, the italians announce that they are going to rehabilitate it and open it back up to the public. The rest of the third century is too damned confusing to try to go through, but for the record, no nobody knows where aurelian wound up.
