Most cases of an AKI in the hospital are going to be either prerenal or postrenal. We usually prioritize our cognitive energy and think about prerenal and postrenal causes first. But sometimes, intrarenal deserves center stage from the get-go. And those times are when we see a urinalysis that looks like the one we have here. It's important to note that there's a number of things that can mimic this urinalysis pattern which is consistent with glomerular nephritis.
