The Origins of Orthodoxy

The idea of what we now call orstdoxy exists, but exists as a different term in the history of the church and it's called the rule of faith. The early heresies all debated the Christological nature of Christ. To always to be orthodox is to share a common public faith. You can have a private faith, but you can't be orthodox and have just a private faith.
