Gayle's Life Outside of Science

Gayle is a distinguished professor in the Department of Earth and Planetary Sciences at Rutgers University. She received her bachelor's and master's degrees in geology from the University of Massachusetts, and she completed her PhD at the University of British Columbia. After receiving her PhD, Gayle accepted a faculty position at Rutgers, and she has been a faculty member there for 39 years. Her role as a geologist is to think about the environment that these hominins originated in; what kind of climate they might have eaten.
