Quantitative Tightening: A Theoretical Weapon
Quantitative easing was nowhere near as big as what the Fed and other central banks have done. There's probably not as much to quantitatively tighten. The RBA is basically insolvent because of all the bonds they bought, which have all gone down in value enormously. They are an inverted pyramid sitting on a point. It's just not big enough to move the dial in the way that interest rates are.
