The Harp Brothers' Killing Spree
The Harp brothers killed five different people in two separate instances, simply because they had been spotted and feared being further pursued. After fleeing into the state of Illinois, the brothers made their way to a natural cave system on the Bluffs above the Ohio River. Only to discover it was the stronghold of a band of river pirates led by the infamous Samuel Mason. In July of 1798, records showed that a farmer named Bradbury, a man named Hardin, and a boy named Coffee were all murdered by the Harp brothers.
