The Impact of Network Effects on Tech Growth
Big Tech has always had giants, whether that's IBM or any of the other massive firms of yesteryear. The reason that tech experiences this explosive growth is because of something that economists call network effects. So one fax machine is not very valuable, but every time a new fax machine comes online, it's a reason for other people to get a fax machine. Lots of installed computers are more valuable. And so tech has always grown in this explosive way.
