The Cape Cod Trial
The Cape Cod trial is a double blind, randomized placebo controlled superiority multi-center trial. It took place in 31 French hospitals and enrolled patients from October of 2015 through March 2020. The study drug was started within 24 hours of those severe symptoms starting and then at least one dose of antibiotics was given since admission to the hospital so prior to study enrollment.
