The Development of a Phonological Decoding Strategy for Reading
For people who are expert readers, which just means people who can read fluently, so most adult readers a all those things happen within a micro second. Look at a word on a page, ou immediately it's transformed to meaning. Expert readers have stopped using what's called a phonological decoding strategy for reading and they just recognize the word. For hypolectics, though, it actually tends to by past that language processing stage at an early age. They rely much more on perceptual, visual imagery and sort of right brain processes of reading a word.
