The Higgs Boson: Evidence of the God Particle

The Higgs boson, casually known as the God particle from a 1993 pop science book, was announced to the world in July 2012. We learned about it by smashing other particles together at really high speeds in the Large Hadron Collider. Sarah: "How fast is a horse? It's not just howfast is a horse, but like how fast should a horse be going?"
