I've Been a Pianist for a Long Time, and I'm Glad to Be a Part of It
I played the piano a great deal when i was studying for my degree. I would award myself quarter of an hour's piano playing if i'd done two hours at the desk and so on. And i learnt, oh, i don't kno, schubert sonatas and that sort of thing, which i couldn't really play well. My older son has conducted the durham singers latterly for the last ten years. They are one of the leading amateur quirs in the northeast. That's been just a great delight to see that being carried on through the next generation.
