The Importance of Diversity in Diplomacy
Dairon was known for having a more diverse court than Westerosse were used to seeing. She may have yielded to political expediency, but I think he would have wanted to show the diversity of his court and the intelligence of the people that he kept close. It's also possible that she could have gone along with diplomats or be an advisor for her. Maybe politics played a role. If I just don't get married, I'm never going to be forced onto a side here. So may have been part of her calculation.
