Paco: It does seem like you have this observation and a few places in the book that say wild plants compared to domesticated plants might actually be wily or craftier, more sophisticated. So could you talk a little bit about that? I found that fascinating. Paco: There's two really important points there to bring up. One is that intelligence is an evolved characteristic that shapes to whatever selective pressures organisms encounter over time. And therefore, seeing things on a kind of scale, which we have historically done, is not a very helpful one.
