How Do We Harness Our Best Selves?

When people are feeling grateful, they're more willing to sacrifice for the greater good. One thing in my lab that we study is the emotion gratitude. It encourages people to be more foresighted, to have more patience,. To be willing to sacrifice more, to share more, to cheat less. If you can engage with these practices daily and cultivate that emotional state, what it will do is emotions change what our brain values.
