Heat and Altitude Training

Heat training complements or substitutes somewhat elevation training. Those that have run in the heat can then go to an elevation race and benefit more than those that hadn't been in the heat. It seems like an altitude training triggers some of the same cellular responses something called heat shock proteins is one of the responses that actually gets produced at altitude. But I would say yeah they're not the same thing so it's not like you could call increasing your mileage is also the poor man's altitude training because it makes you fitter too right.
