Percy winds up at a summer camp, which is very American. He goes to Camp Halfblood. Cynthia points out his last name is ugly. It's the thing that you do in a cartoon to show that somebody is a slob. At one point, like, towards the end of the book, Sally Jackson's been gone for a month. So and we'll find out why that's important.

It's episode 600, baybee!!! To celebrate, we're embarking on a voyage through Rick Riordan's Percy Jackson and the Olympians series, some middle-grade fantasy-but-in-the-real-world fiction that passed us by when it came out in 2005. We'll be reading the first five books in the series, starting with The Lightning Thief.
