The Wave: A Novel About Motherhood
The novel opens with a prologue. The protagonist goes out to feed her chickens who are standing atop their coop which kind of sets off some initial alarm bells in her head. She begins fertilizing her garden and then it's then that she notices this giant wave on the horizon and she freezes. So we're given the heading as survivors account to the wave but we don't know yet whose point of view we're in. I really enjoyed reading this for a while.
