Is That When Richard Started Acting?
I always thought I could make an audience laugh. But I didn't love stand up. Tom is and was a better comic than I was. He understood the mechanism of comedy. And he would work all every night. So my heart wasn't in it to say the least, so I started acting a lot. Richard told me don't ever give up the stand up. Don't ever give it up. Somebody should write a book about the behind the scenes of the Richard Pryor show. It was phenomenal.
