What's an Evangelical?
I think Andrew's discussion of how much should we prompt people on surveys about what an evangelical is, is something that we always struggle with as social scientists. Ryan is really good with the numbers game describing how things are, not necessarily how he would like things to be. And so I also sense that there is less of an ideological axe to grind with how he talks about evangelicalism. That sends the signal to me that someone is interested in doing honest work, not just backing up their tribes viewpoints.
