"I frame employees as customers, partially because honestly, they are. A customer is somebody who exchanges value with your enterprise and is free not to," he says. "If I look at you as a customer, I'm looking at all of you... And I'm asking, what can I do to make Mark's experience here whole?" He adds that if we truly believe that we put our people first in an organization, it makes sense to treat them as customers.
