Is the ECB Getting Ahead of Itself?
I think it's likely that Germany and Italy are already in contraction. If not, I think they'll go into contraction pretty soon. The Hawks had pretty much dominated at the ECB for the past couple of months. At Jackson Hole, where Isabelle Schnabel gave a pretty hawkish speech, the doves are finding their footing again. So maybe that debate is just starting.
