I Can't Understand Portuguese

French is closer, technically to italian than spanish, really. I speak three romance languages and i cannot understand any portuguese,. like, not a word. A lot of spaniards or latin americans go to italy and they just speak spanish slowly, and the italians understand. But i can't understand portuguese. That's what i'm saying.
