The Relationship Between Identity Politics and Gender Inequality
I think we've got to find a way of reconciling these different concerns without making more dominant. There's absolutely the case that racism and sexism have their own foundational principles, which you cannot reduce to some kind of economic logic. We are doing this research in the UK with my colleagues Alvin Adwani and Andy Summers and David Berger looking at the non-dom people who get tax break. Most elites, 80, 90% of men, the vast majority are white. So we should not really be, I think, different in trying to say, oh, this race matters more than class. They've all been together, particularly in terms of the way that crystallized their top.
