My Dad's Mental Illness

My dad had a mental illness and it was raging when I was a little girl. He needed a lot of emotional support from me even though I was five, six, seven years old. Instead of him taking care of me, I felt like I needed to be the parent almost and take care of him and guide him. My mom always called me her angel baby because I was such a good kid. It was just an escape and a way to feel less responsibility.
