Keeping Up With the Joneses

RBA research shows lower socio-demographic not getting into too much trouble in keeping up with the Joneses en masse. But certainly the middle class of Australians do try and keep up by investing, which is a good thing. The other risk is they're also trying to keep up on the car side. They could also be basically geared to the hilt with bad debt instead of good debt. In isolated pockets, it's certainly something of a concern in that middle class area where everyone's sort of saying, "You've just bought yourself in your SUV"
