In the case of a state, it's usually at least three tiers. You have the largest centre than something in the middle,. And then the lower levels of the hierarchy below that. When you see that kind of teared settlement pattern, it seems fairly clear that something has changed. So this new concept and method to study has not been commonly practised in china.
