Since the 19 seventies, an awful lot of popular evangelical theology itself has been conspiracy theories. So for decades, the white evangelical subculture has been primed to look at everything through the lens of a conspiracy theory. And i think that's why the church, especially white evangelicals, are far more susceptible to this kind of stuff than other americans. We just keep starting the end times because we can't wait to get there.
