Pan American Flight 103 - The Bombing
In 1988, a bomb went off in West Berlin killing two US soldiers and a Turkish woman. The United States responded with airstrikes against Libyan leader Madar al-Qaddafi's government. Yet, Q Gaddafi hadn't actually been scared into submission by the U.S., writes Peter Bergen. His agents hit a bomb inside a radio cassette player and placed it in a suitcase, which they sent on a Pan Am flight to Frankfurt.
