First known instance of warfare occurred in roughly 206 in Edfu, Apollinopolis Magna. It isn't clear if the attacks were from a large uprising or an organized band of raiders. Harenophorus was declared pharaoh by the city's priesthood of Amun during autumn of that year. Evidence for the collapse of Ptolemaic authority in the area is clear.
