Is That the Essence of What Life Is Doing?
The idea of this kind of whole network of reactions is one that does seem to be characteristic of biology. Can you make something where you know the essence of what's going on, and do it with completely different chemicals? We don't know for sure. I think that e things that i've actually looked even fairly recentlyi have been along the lines of thinking about how you make a sort of idealized chemistry which captures these computational aspects of chemical processes.
