Pertinax and Rome

There was a hope prevailing in rome that maybe the reign of commedus had just been a hiccup, and that with pertinax now in power things could go back to normal. But it was not to be. The romans would never again return to the road they had travelled for the last century,. No, they were on a different road now. And in late march one 93, the people of rome discovered how far they had already strayed from that good, solid road they had enjoyed for so many years.
